US: PPI contracted 0.7% MoM in April

FXstreet.com (Barcelona) - The Labour Department reported that Producer Prices fell 0.7% MoM during April, below expectations at -0.6% and March’s print at -0.6%. Over the last twelve months, prices rose 0.6%, missing forecasts at 0.8% and down from Mrach’s 1.1%.

Ex food and energy, wholesale prices rose 0.1% MoM and 1.7% YoY,, banging on estimates.

Forex: USD/CAD retraces back to 1.0200 after PPI in US

The USD/CAD has been climbing higher Wednesday, having broken above the 1.0200 level earlier. Indeed, after peaking at the 1.0221 mark (intraday maximum), the cross has now moved to the 1.0200 region after the publication of economic data in the United States.
