GBP/JPY loses 200 pips

FXStreet (Córdoba) - The pound dropped sharply across the board in Friday and against the yen lost almost 1%. GBP/JPY opened the year falling more than 200 pips and posted the lowest daily close in two weeks.

The pair started 2015 trading at 186.88 and peaked on Asian hours at at 187.30 but then turned to the downside and plummeted following the release of UK economic data. It found temporal support at 185.70.

On American hours, after the release of the US ISM Manufacturing report the yen jumped in the market and pushed GBP/JPY further to the downside. Finally bottomed at 184.30 (2-week low) and rebounded but remained below 185.00.

NZD/USD ends week testing 0.7700

NZD/USD lost almost a hundred pips on Friday and finished the week testing the 0.7700 area, as the US dollar soared across the board.
