Speculators raised net bearish positions in 10-year Treasury note
FXStreet (Mumbai) - As per the data released by the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC), speculators added to their overall bearish positions last week. The weekly positions have fluctuated back and forth over the last few weeks.
The non-commercial futures contracts of the 10-year treasury notes witnessed a weekly change of -84,551 net contracts to total a net position of -183,116 contracts. The weekly bullish positions decreased by 54,124 contracts, while the bearish positions rose by 30,427 contracts.
Meanwhile, during the reporting time period - April 28th to Tuesday May 5th – the 10-year Treasury note yield rose from 2.00% to 2.19%.
Commercial positions - hedgers, traders buying and selling for business purposes – witnessed a weekly change of +135,787 contracts to total a net position of +310,349 contracts.
