ADP: Employment in Canada decreased by 7,100 jobs in Dec 2017

"Employment in Canada decreased by 7,100 jobs from November to December," the ADP reported on Thursday.

The job market in Canada softened in the month of December.

Despite strong gains in finance, construction and professional services, we saw losses in manufacturing, education and trade.

Looking at all of 2017, Canada added more than 315,000 new jobs with an average of approximately 26,000 jobs per month.

The November total of jobs added was revised down from 59,200 to 58,800.
