BoJ’s Kuroda: An exit strategy to be debated if 2% target reached during FY 2019

The Bank of Japan (BoJ) Governor Kuroda is still on the wires, via Reuters, clarifying Friday’s comments on the bank’s exit strategy.

Key Points:

Says that he only said an exit strategy may be debated if inflation reaches 2% target during the fiscal year 2019, as is projected now.

Not sure whether appropriate to use forward guidance too much to guide interest rates to a certain direction.

On Friday, Kuroda noted that the BOJ is "considering exit strategy around the fiscal year 2019".
